April–May and September–October are the sweet spot: the rain has eased, the countryside is still green and there are far fewer people than at the peak of the Andean winter.
The route stays around 3,400 m above sea level. If you are coming from the coast, it is usual to spend a day or two acclimatising first: walk slowly, drink plenty of water and leave the alcohol for later. Tell us your itinerary and we will adjust the pace of the first day.
The experience lasts Half day. The «Itinerary» section, just above, breaks down what happens in each stage.
The price of $75 per person covers:

We work in small groups of up to 12 people so the guide can look after everyone. If you would rather have a private service, tell us when booking and we will quote it separately.
